Sweet baby Jesus in his
Christmas crib, you know Imelda’s desperate for a news story when my first post
on NYFW is about gravel gazing models and the sky high stitts that bring them
undone.
Thankfully it wasn’t Aussie model Abbey Lee Kershaw at the centre of the ‘stitt storm’ that blew into Herve Leger this morning. As reported by The Cut via Twitter at 06:06 “Two models down at Herve. One caught herself, the other fully bit it, earning applause when she got up.” Then at 06:09 “Third model down at Herve!” and finally at 06.14 “It's a model bloodbath! The lead girl in the final group walkout just slid at Herve. Who greased the runway?!”
While Imelda’s not making
ludicrous accusations that Max Azria instructed his models to take a dive, in
fact, speaking to The Cut he said “he didn’t care” about the tumbles. But one
can’t help but wonder, if in the current climate any headlines (good or bad)
are now welcomed with open arms. CLICK HERE for the video and push forward to 2:33 for all the action.
UPDATE - Confirmation is sketchy (at best) but it's been alleged that 15 year-old Polish talent Monika Jagaciak aka Tumble-lina, was the unlucky model photographed ‘eating dirty’ at Herve Leger. In 2008, the then 14 year-old Jac stared in the biggest controversy to bitch-slap the Australian Fashion Industry, Imelda’s good friend and crisis mentor Patty ‘patchwork’ Huntington has THE FULL STORY.

Ouch! that looks painful!

PS: have you seen the Louboutin 'Marie Antoinette' series? I've just posted them.

I know how she feels, I think because it happened to me the other day, only I wasn't wearing heels that's even worse!!!

Oooh, those gazelle legs seem so snappy. Not nice to put adolescents on stilts.

Poor little starving model!

oooh THAT kid.
that's what you get for putting a 15 yr old in skyscraper platforms.

She looks barely phased as she goes down (used to it perhaps??)
:p

Ouch. that would have been a good show! :P

What a mess! Those girls need to get their footing back.
(I bet I'd bite it if I tried to walk in those platforms.)

GEEZ. Clearly no one learned a thing from other recent tumbles. And I second Sister Wolf - that poor girl looks like she's at death's door. FEED HER!

Is it just me, or has there been a LOT of roadkill recently?

How does sending a 15 year old waif down the runway in a bodycon dress and sky high heels seem like a good idea?
Posted by: danz | February 17, 2009 at 03:59 AM
Totally agree with danz!!! Poor skinny girl!

Best. Post. Ever.

I'm sure this has been said before - the designers should have to wear these shoes once down the runway.
Posted by: Thom | February 17, 2009 at 02:56 PM
it's crazy to think how young these girls are! i know it's always been that way, but it's still mind blowing.
it's funny to watch models fall and stumble.
Posted by: Prêt-à-Porter P | February 17, 2009 at 06:03 PM
Please feed her. Can you imagine falling down from that height without any padding at all?!
Posted by: Jill | February 18, 2009 at 01:37 AM
It looks like the catwalks are becoming scarier to walk on...

owww.
Posted by: THE SHOE GIRL | February 19, 2009 at 09:33 AM
Yeek. I think the falling makes her look skinnier, with the muscles actually having to do some work but...
Occassionally, I can be found arguing the 'some people are naturally skinny' line, but these photos really are a bit too much.
Sigh. Wierd world.
I actually like the dress tho... Wouldn't wear the shoes... before or after seeing the model go down in them lol.
