Rocked me to the core of my Chanel 2 tone Mary Jane knock offs- Hobbs
really good story xx

wow, copying is really rampant in the fashion industry. but it's interesting with garments at least (not as much with footwear) even high end designers rip off vintage designs sometimes one-to-one. i mean, what would marc jacobs do if suddenly every stitch of vintage clothing disappeared?

anyway, i think there is a bigger problem at stake here, not just fakes, but the fact that we feel we need them.

They threatened legal action? WHAT DOUCHEBAGS! if they're going to do shady things - stay in the fucking shade! I've accidentally bought knocks offs from Tony Bianco before (I was 14 ok? Since I'm 15 now I'm uh... wise enough to know better, like Louboutin better) it's unfair because it's not until after you buy it or someone points it out that you realise it's a complete rip off, especially for those who don't know of the newer designers like Camilla Skovgaard. I've seen some of the mose shameless copies of the YSL cage pumps and Balmain stud sandals

BTW you look fabbity!

Its going to be a sad sad day when the accounts 'step-up' to the design table. Because thats where we will end up if the creative community can't afford to earn a living from their work.

Does anyone really want that!

great story. but more importantly you looked great on camera. Very relatable with great hair. ;)

OMG you are seriously YUMMY. I just fell in love all over again.

...oh ya, and fakes are bad.

this was a very well done news feature.
i dont stand on either side of the issue. i can see both sides of it. i can relate to both sides of it. i will say i definitely draw the line at counterfeits, real logos on a fake item.
but i think it is ridiculous that one of the companies threatened legal action!! how silly!

skye

I noticed today that the latest issue of Grazia features a really horrible looking version of the Skovgaards, from Portmans of all places. In a nasty mottled brown. Ugh.

The worst part about that is the issue would have been put to bed after the TT story and your posts. Bad form.

I also can see both sides the problem. It is clear we need to draw the line at counterfeits, like with te fake Uggs. They are very popular in the Netherlands. (to popular actually)
But I do feel prices of designer shoes are way to high. The designers make us drool over every beautiful heel they put in the spotlight. And we are left with the rubbish you can buy in your local shoe discount. The gap between nice design and affordable shoes is to big. Hence the look for less cravings...
